Rotary Kiln Tyre / Riding Ring

Kiln Tyre / Riding Ring

The kiln tyre (also called the riding ring or rolling ring) is a large annular steel casting mounted on the kiln shell. It supports the entire weight of the rotating kiln — which can be hundreds of tons — and transfers it to the support rollers below. The tyre also strengthens the kiln shell and helps keep it round.

AGICO kiln tyres are made of high-strength cast steel and feature advanced heat treatment for uniform hardness. Available in rectangular (solid) and box (hollow) cross-section types. Precision machining ensures accurate fit with the kiln shell.

Materials: ZG310-570, ZG35CrMo, ZG42CrMo
Weight Range: 5–80 tons (customizable)
Surface Hardness: ≥HB170
Applications: Cement rotary kilns, lime kilns, rotary dryers, rotary coolers

Support Roller

The support roller (also called the carrier roller or kiln roller) is a large cylindrical steel casting positioned underneath the kiln shell. It bears the full weight of the rotating kiln and transfers it to the foundation below. The tyre and support rollers work together as a pair.

AGICO support rollers feature crowned design for automatic alignment and reduced wear. Surface hardness reaches HRC 45–55 after heat treatment. Available in solid and assembled types. Precision machining to ISO 6–7 tolerance ensures smooth operation.

Materials: ZG230-450, ZG270-500, ZG35, ZG55, ZG35CrMo, ZG42CrMo
Weight Range: 0.3–50 tons (customizable)
Diameter: φ400 mm – φ2,000 mm (customizable)
Surface Hardness: HRC 45–55

Support Roller Shaft

Rotary kiln support roller shaft factory

The support roller shaft connects the support roller to the bearing system. It transmits the load from the roller to the foundation and enables smooth rotation of the entire assembly. Together with the support roller, bearing housing, and bearings, it forms the support roller set that carries the full weight of the rotating kiln.

AGICO offers both forged (42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6) and cast (ZG42CrMo, ZG55) shafts. Hot assembly technology ensures a tight, reliable fit. Quenching and tempering heat treatment provides balanced strength and toughness. 100% NDT testing (UT and MT) ensures no hidden defects.

Forged Materials: 42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6
Cast Materials: ZG42CrMo, ZG55
Diameter: Up to 800mm (forged); up to 1,200mm (cast)
Surface Hardness: HB 200–280

Thrust Roller

The thrust roller controls the axial movement of the kiln shell and prevents the kiln from sliding up or down along its slope. It is an essential component for maintaining the kiln’s proper position during operation.

AGICO thrust rollers are made of high-strength cast steel with excellent wear resistance. Precise alignment ensures accurate axial control. Durable design for long-term operation under heavy loads.

Materials: ZG35, ZG42CrMo
Weight Range: 2–20 tons (customizable)
Applications: Cement rotary kilns, lime kilns, metallurgical rotary kilns

Girth Gear / Bull Gear

AGICO Girth Gear And Pinion Drive

The girth gear (also called the bull gear) is a large ring gear fixed to the kiln shell. It meshes with the pinion to transmit power from the motor and drive the kiln rotation. The girth gear is one of the most important transmission components of the rotary kiln.

AGICO girth gears are made of high-strength cast steel with precision-cut teeth for smooth engagement. Advanced heat treatment ensures long service life. Available in various tooth profiles and sizes.

Materials: ZG310-570, ZG35CrMo, ZG42CrMo
Weight Range: 5–80 tons (customizable)

Pinion

Ball Mill Pinion

The pinion is a small gear that meshes with the girth gear. It transmits power from the motor to the girth gear, driving the kiln rotation. The pinion and girth gear work together as a pair in the transmission system.

AGICO pinions are made of high-strength alloy steel with precision-cut teeth for smooth and reliable power transmission. Advanced heat treatment ensures long service life and wear resistance.

Material: Alloy Steel
Weight Range: 500–5,000 kg (customizable)

Kiln Seal / Sealing Device

Kiln seals are installed at the feed end and discharge end of the kiln. They prevent air leakage and dust escape, improving thermal efficiency and reducing environmental pollution.

AGICO kiln seals are made of heat-resistant alloy steel with effective sealing performance. Durable design for harsh operating conditions.

Material: Heat-Resistant Alloy Steel
Weight Range: Custom
Applications: Cement rotary kilns, lime kilns, chemical rotary kilns

Kiln Shell

The kiln shell is the main body of the rotary kiln. It is a large cylindrical structure made of steel plates rolled and welded together. The shell contains the refractory lining and rotates slowly during operation. It provides the structural foundation for all other kiln components — tyres, girth gear, and drive system — and directly withstands high temperature, mechanical load, and material movement.

AGICO kiln shells are manufactured from high-quality steel plates such as Q235-B, Q245R, and 20g. The plate thickness varies by section — generally 18–40 mm, with thicker plates (up to 85 mm) used under the tyres and in high-temperature zones. Each shell section is precision-rolled, automatically welded, and undergoes post-weld heat treatment to relieve stress and ensure dimensional accuracy. 100% NDT testing (UT) is performed on all force-bearing surfaces before delivery.

Materials: Q235-B, Q245R, 20g (customizable)
Thickness: 18–85 mm (varies by section)
Applications: Cement rotary kilns, lime kilns, metallurgical rotary kilns, chemical rotary kilns
